School Rules & Guidelines

A set of rules play a key role in enabling children realize the true value of integrity and the school firmly believes that students can realize their true potential through self discipline.

Rules And Norms

School Starts : 7:50 a.m.
Class Dispersal : 1:50 p.m.
Office Public Dealing : 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.

 

School Starts : 9:00 a.m.
Class Dispersal : 12:50 p.m. (Pre Primary)
Office Public Dealing : 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.

(Changes in timing in case of weather conditions will be intimated accordingly.).

  • Students who come to school on their own must arrive at the school five minutes before the morning bell rings. The school gates will be closed with the morning bell and the students who will come late, under any circumstances, will not be allowed to enter, if they arrive after the morning bell.
  • No student will be allowed to leave the premises during school hours unless permission has been sought in writing and given by the Head of School.
  • In case of a medical problem the medical officer, counselor or headmistress may decide to call the parents and ask for a child to be taken home.

School Visits And Interaction

  • Parents entering the school for any reason must have a valid school identity card with them. The security guards are instructed to check the same. Please co-operate with them as these steps are for the security of all.
  • On their visits, parents are required to go via the reception, which is their first point of contact in the school.
  • Parents must park their vehicles outside the school. The guards and the receptionist are representatives of the school and parents are expected to take direction from them during their visit.
  • Parents are not allowed to visit the classroom / playground during school hours.
  • Parents can meet teachers, with prior appointment, on working Saturdays specified in the school calendar, which is given in the school diary. If parents are coming to discuss academics, it is recommended that they bring along their child’s copies. Except for these Saturdays, parents are requested to make prior appointment, through the school diary, with the teacher or counselor, when necessary.
  • Parents can keep track of their ward’s academic performance/ homework/ assignments on the parent portal – http://scm.v3m.in/cambridge/. The mobile version of the parent portal app is also available.
  • PTM’s are held periodically as mentioned in the school calendar.
  • Parents can meet the counselor with prior appointment by sending an email to contactus.csgn@cambridgeschool.edu.in . The counselor will be available from 8.30 a.m. to 12.30 a.m.
  • Parents can meet the office-staff regarding fees and other matters between 8.30 a.m. and 10.30 a.m. on working days.
  • The uniform and bookshop are open for parents between 8.30 a.m. and 10.30 a.m. on all school days, except after the session ends in March when it is open till 4.00 p.m.
  • Parents can meet the Principal/ Vice Principal/ Headmistress/ Coordinators (Primary Wing, Middle Wing and Senior Wing) with prior appointment by sending an email to contactus.csgn@cambridgeschool.edu.in<
  • The school appreciates the help of parents in curricular and co- curricular areas. Parents who would like to volunteer time during school hours, may give their names to the respective coordinators.

Attendance And Absence

  • In case a student’s attendance is less than 75 % in the first term, or in the academic session, he / she will not be assigned grades in the report card. Also, if the student’s attendance is less than 60%, a report card will not be issued to him/her.
  • The parents of children who have been absent on the previous day must make an entry in the diary, in the pages given for this purpose. Children from classes II-V must also bring their own ‘leave letter’. These must be addressed to the teacher and should be written by the children themselves. Parents are requested not to encourage children to give false reasons for their absence. The school does not believe in punishing or scolding children if they are absent and definitely not in teaching children to lie.
  • Prior permission should be taken from the class teacher, if a student is going to be absent from school for more than 3 working days.
  • The re-opening and closing dates of the term are declared well in advance. Parents are requested to abide by these dates. However, students who plan to go out of town should take prior permission.
  • In case a student is absent for more than 10 days without information, his/her name could be struck off the rolls.
  • If required, classes can be moved to an online mode. It is mandatary to attend the same.
